It’s John Peel Day and in memory of the great man I was going to upload a snippet from a classic Festive Fifty, but rather appropriately the technology’s not working. Hope to include it on a future Mixless mix, but till then here’s the transcript:

“Cocteau Twins at number 21 in the Festive Fifty, and that’s Love’s Easy Tears. Well, I’m off home obviously to er, play the role of Father Christmas, and I’ll be back on Monday with sessions from Laibach, James, Twang, Stars of Heaven, The Primitives, Miaow and Fourteen Iced Bears, and the Festive Fifty numbers 20 to 11.

I hope you have a good day tomorrow, really I hope that everyday’s good for you. I shall be listening to my compact disc player, which I’ve finally got working after two years – only got three compact discs: New Order, Joy Division and rather surprisingly the soundtrack from Amadeus, but there you are… Have a good Christmas, thanks very much for listening, coming up shortly the midnight news summary. Good night.”
